GOLDEN BOLL IS 40 YEARS OLD
The first Golden Boll Film Festival has been realised in 1969 by the collabration of Municipality of Adana and Adana Cinema Club, under the name of "Golden Boll Film Carnival".
In time, the festival has grown through the efforts of the cinema people. At first standing out with the National Feature Film Competition, later festival has enriched its program with students' films, short films and documentary films.
The festival has been interrupted by certain periods, but after a seven years of interruption the 12nd of the festival was realised in 2005 and gained acceleration. Including Mediterranean Short Film Competition to its program, it became an international film festival.
Enriching its theme since 1969, the festival became one of the most important cultural events of Çukurova region as well as the country.
This year, 16th Golden Boll Film Festival will be held between 8th-14th of June and will celebrate its 40th anniversary. |
